Nairobi Carrots

Most versatile sow early under polythene to late sowing for overwintered straw covered crops. A very smooth type for use on lighter soils. Cylindrical stump rooted Nantes type with strong tops.

When to Sow Nairobi Carrot Seeds

April to July

Where to Sow

Sow very thinly in drills 1.5cm deep with 25cm between rows. Can also be sown February to March in a greenhouse or under cloches.

What to do next

Carrot Fly is attracted by thinning, so try to avoid thinning at all. If plants are overcrowded, pull alternate roots when small and use whole.

Handy Tip

To avoid Carrot Fly use modern fleece covers in the early part of their growth.
